Chris and his careless friends waste another day in the suburbs, just as relationships reach their breaking point.
This undergraduate thesis was an attempt to re-evaluate the timeworn ‘hipster’ on his own terms, toying with irony and emotional obscurity as a means of detachment. This particular friend group shares an addiction to toxic (now cancelled) OC DIY labels, shaping their image accordingly. By simulating indie naturalism, the film serves as its own gesture against the tired tradition of hip ironic detachment.
