MATT O’CONNELL is a filmmaker + musician based in Chicago, IL. His work explores the fringes of American identity, often through a darkly comedic lens.
Formerly an assistant at Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video, Matt's subversive independent shorts have screened across the country, including Midwest Film Fest, BizarroLand Film Festival, Oakland Short Film Festival, and the Chicago Underground Film Festival.
In addition to film endeavors, Matt is a self-taught music producer - his solo debut Fin Cinema was released this September!
